Suus Kuyten Auctions breaks the one-million-euro barrier

International showjumper Suus Kuyten sold more than one million euros’ worth of showjumping horses last night, Tuesday 26 December, during her annual auction. She was also able to donate €21,000 to Support Casper, the campaign of the Living with Pancreatic Cancer Foundation. From the very first moment, the auction was enthusiastically embraced by the guests.

Xander de Buisonjé sang the festive atmosphere to its ultimate peak, but there were also emotional moments. The auction opened with the pony Merry Christmas, whose proceeds are being used for pancreatic cancer research, the disease that claimed the life of Suus Kuyten’s father and also led the equestrian world to bid farewell to René Viscaal. His wife, Conny Viscaal, did not hesitate for a moment and purchased the pony. Gert Wezenberg of Wezenberg Transport decided to increase the donated amount by an additional €5,000, bringing the total to €21,000. The pony may stay in the pasture of Bert Degenaar, known from the Dutch TV program ‘Van onschatbare waarde’ (The Perfect Bid).

All 26 sold
The auction of the 26 showjumping horses went just as smoothly, with all 26 finding new owners. “It was a fantastic evening,” beams Suus Kuyten. “Everything sold. And yes, maybe a few horses could have brought in a bit more, but there were also some that did exceptionally well. People talk so easily about money, but try selling them yourself. I really wanted to reach a turnover of one million and we achieved that. The very best part of the auction? The names of the buyers. Once again, many professionals, but also returning clients from home and abroad. I’ve already set the date for next year: 15 December, because I will definitely continue with this!”

Six figures for Dame
The most expensive showjumper of the evening was one of Suus Kuyten’s own favorites: the seven-year-old mare Dame de Montrose Z (Dominator Z), which sold for €100,000. She was purchased by Irishman Greg Broderick, who also secured Walsall de Muze (Cavalier Russe Z).

Homebred horses by Suus Kuyten were also highly valued: the six-year-old Country Girl SKH Z (Conthargos) sold for €85,000, and the five-year-old Une Femme Fatale (Billy King) goes to an Olympic rider in Belgium for €65,000. Both are bred out of the international showjumping mare Osaka. For €75,000, the five-year-old Pennsylvania VDS (Dominator Z), a finalist at the World Breeding Championships for young jumping horses in Lanaken, found a new owner in Armenia.

Young stallions
The AES-approved stallion Olly vh Zand Z (Orak d’Hamwyck), out of a 1.50m Grand Prix mare and a grandson of Fragance de Chalus, was the most popular 3.5-year-old. He sold for €42,500 to Belgium. Olympic rider Denis Lynch purchased the 3.5-year-old AES stallion All 4 Love PM Z (Aganix du Seigneur).

“It was wonderful and incredibly enjoyable. This motivates me to put together another strong collection of showjumping horses for 2026,” says Suus Kuyten.
