Suus Kuyten Auctions breaks the one-million-euro barrier
Last night, Tuesday, December 26, international show jumper Suus Kuyten sold more than one million euros worth of show jumping horses for the first time during her annual auction and will donate 21,000 euros to Support Casper, the campaign of the Surviving Pancreatic Cancer Foundation. The auction was enthusiastically supported by the guests from the very beginning.
Xander de Buisonjé sang the festive mood to its ultimate height, but there were also emotions to share. The auction opened with the pony Merry Christmas, the proceeds of which will be used for research into pancreatic cancer, the disease that took Suus Kuyten’s father and also caused the equestrian world to say goodbye to René Viscaal. His wife Conny Viscaal did not hesitate for a moment and bought the pony. Gert Wezenberg of Wezenberg Transport decided to increase the donation amount by another €5,000 to €21,000. The pony will be kept in the pasture at Bert Degenaar’s farm, known from the TV program “Van onschatbare waarde” (Priceless).
All 26 sold
The auction of the 26 show jumpers went just as smoothly, and all 26 found new owners. “It was a fantastic evening,” beams Suus Kuyten. “Everything sold. And yes, maybe a few horses could have fetched a little more, but there were also some that did very well. People talk so easily about money, but try selling them. I really wanted to reach a million in sales, and I did it. The best thing about the auction? The names of all the buyers. Lots of professionals again, but also returning customers from home and abroad. I’ve already set the date for next year: December 15, because I’m definitely going to continue with this!”
Ton for Dame
The most expensive show jumper of the evening was one of Suus Kuyten’s own favorites, the six-year-old mare Dame de Montrose Z (Dominator Z), which sold for €100,000. She was purchased by Irishman Greg Broderick, who also secured Walsall de Muze (Cavalier Russe Z).
Suus Kuyten’s own breeding products were also highly valued: the six-year-old Country Girl SKH Z (Conthargos) fetched €85,000, while the five-year-old Une Femme Fatale (Billy King) went to an Olympic rider in Belgium for €65,000. Both were bred from the international show jumping mare Osaka. The five-year-old Pennsylvania VDS (Dominator), finalist at the World Championships for young show jumpers in Lanaken, found a new owner in Armenia for €75,000.
Young stallions
The AES-approved stallion Olly vh Zand Z (Orak d’Hamwyck), out of a 1.50m Grand Prix mare and grandson of Fragance de Chalus, was the most popular 3.5-year-old. He was sold to Belgian buyers for €42,500. Olympic show jumper Denis Lynch bought the same-aged AES stallion All 4 Love PM Z (Aganix du Seigneur).
“It was fantastic and great fun. This motivates us to put together another strong collection of show jumpers for 2026,” says Suus Kuyten.
